IFS (International Featured Standard) is a GFSI-benchmarked standard for manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, agents, and brokers, focusing on food safety and quality management in food and packaging manufacturing.
IFS Food audits the safety and quality of food manufacturing processes and products, while BRC Global Standard for Food Safety sets requirements for companies involved in food processing and preparation.
There are two certification levels: Higher Level (score above 95%) and Foundation (score between 75% and 95%). A score below 75% results in no certification. The standard also includes 10 “knock-out” criteria.
IFS Food version 8, published in April 2023, is the current standard.
IFS Food version 7 is only valid until 31st December 2023, except in exceptional circumstances.
Request an IFS pre-audit, where an auditor reviews your systems and processes, then provides an action plan to help you meet IFS requirements and achieve certification.
Benefits include improved client confidence, enhanced product quality, and a stronger competitive edge.
IFS Food certification is valid for one year.
It is suitable for food manufacturers, brokers, wholesalers, retailers, and logistics companies.
