IFS PACSecure is a standard for auditing packaging material manufacturing and converting processes concerning product quality, product safety, and customer & regulatory compliance.
IFS PACSecure certification reduces operating costs, improves sales, and drives continuous improvement.
Version 3 of IFS PACSecure was released on 16/02/2024, with version 3 audits mandatory from October 2024.
You can request an IFS pre-audit, where an auditor will come to your site to review your food safety and quality systems, products and production processes in order to see if they align with IFS requirements. The auditor will deliver an action plan based on their findings in order to assist you with gaining certification.
The certification is valid for one year after completion, after which this will need to be re-audited.
The key changes include an optimised audit scope, including the production and processing of packaging materials for food, cosmetics and even household products. Version 3 also boasts a new IFS logo and clarifies some unclear parts of prior versions.
IFS PACSecure applies globally to all companies that produce packaging materials. It is an internationally recognized commitment to quality and efficiency.
IFS PACSecure certification is eligible to any company that is involved in the manufacture, production and/or distribution of packaging materials intended for use with food and personal care products.
IFS PACSecure can be attained alongside other relevant IFS certifications such as IFS Logistics, IFS Broker, and IFS Food. Attaining multiple IFS certifications would demonstrate a major commitment to operational excellence.
